The 2nd Cycle Degree Course (Master Degree) in Environmental Engineering aims at preparing professionals with high skills in the fields of territory defence and environmental protection and able to design and manage projects related to the safeguard from hydro-geologic instability, to environmental protection (waste and wastewater management, contaminated sites reclamation), to environmental monitoring and territory management, to sustainable energy production, management and saving.
The activities on the safeguard form hydro-geologic instability phenomena aim at the knowledge of the methods for programming, executing and interpreting of in situ surveys for geotechnical characterization, of landslides types and triggering causes and of different methods for soils and rocks consolidation.
The activities on the environmental protection aim at the knowledge of the main issues related to soil mechanics when pollutants are presents, of processes and advanced technologies for wastewater treatment, for waste treatment and disposal (in particular landfills related issues), for contaminated sites reclamation.
The curriculum on “New technologies for environmental and territory defense” aims at deepening the knowledge on the protection from hydraulic risk (in urban and marine areas) and on the environmental monitoring.
The curriculum on “Low environmental impact energy production” aims at deepening the knowledge on sustainable energy production, management, and saving.
The objectives and the expected learning results, allow the graduates both a direct employment in the field of Environmental Engineering and the continuation of the studies with a 2nd level Professional Master or a Ph. D. Course.
