Overview

The Master in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (MEEE) is guided by a constant perspective of applied research and development and is focused on the research and solution of concrete problems. It aims to provide a solid cultural and technical background in Electrical Engineering, aiming to develop the capabilities of innovation and critical analysis. It allows the acquisition of scientific knowledge of a technical and practical nature and its applications, in order to continue studies and the exercise of professional activities.

The MEEE is structured in large areas of knowledge: the "Information Technology and Computing" and "Telecommunications and Electronics", materialized in the specialization of "Information Technology and Telecommunications"; and the "Energy Systems" and "Automation and Control", materialized in the specialization of "Energy and Control Systems".

The Masters in Electrical and Electronic Engineering are qualified to exercise the profession of Engineer, and/or to work in research and development and to continue studies. Depending on the areas of knowledge and the courses chosen the graduate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering acquires competences in Telecommunications; Electronics; Information Technologies; Computation; Electric Power Systems; Automatic Control; Automation; Instrumentation; Internet of Things; Human-Computer Interaction; Machine Learning; Renewable energy; among others.

MEEE is lectured in a mixed or evening classes regime and taught in Portuguese and English.

Minimum number of students:8

Access Conditions:

  1. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar;
  2. Bachelor degree (or higher) in other Engineering scientific areas;
  3. Holders of a foreign degree that are recognized as satisfying the objectives of the degree of Bachelor (or higher) by the Technical-Scientific Council (CTC) of the Institute of Engineering (ISE);
  4. Holders of a school, scientific or professional curriculum that are recognized and attested by the CTC-ISE's as able to attend the study cycle.

The recognition referred in subparagraphs 3 and 4 allows access to the study cycle leading to the master's degree, but do not confer to the holder the equivalence or recognition of the degree of bachelor.

Criteria for Candidates Selection:

Candidates are ordered by successive application of the following criteria:

  1. Adequacy of the degree or equivalent of which the candidate is holder;
  2. The final classification of the Degree or equivalent;
  3. Curriculum vitae analysis.

  • Copy of personal identification document (Citizen Card or Passport or equivalent);
  • other documents considered relevant by the applicant.
