Profile of the programme:

The master study programme provides the specialized university education to the graduates of the previous bachelor study in all engineering branches of small-power, as of high-power electrical engineering and electronics, communication technologies, cybernetics, control, and measurement techniques.

Key learning outcomes:

The programme is oriented into the preparation of specialists in electrical and electronic engineering with good knowledge in the design, construction, service, and applications of electrical and electronic devices and systems.

The students are educated in various branches of applied electronics and communication techniques, teleinformatics, power electrical and electronic engineering, microelectronics and technology, and control and measurement techniques. The students dispose of also with the needed knowledge of the higher mathematics, physics, theoretical electrotechnics, using and programming of computers, applied informatics, and also with the basic knowledge of foreign languages, economics, and management.

As the efficient supplements of the obligatory education, there is the elaboration of one individual technical project and a final masterwork of the student. According to their concrete study branches, the graduates of the master programme can be applied in design, construction, application and service areas in many institutions, companies, and organisations of the electrical and electronic industry, as in the areas of communication and data transmission services and systems, inclusively in the special institutions of the state administration.

In all of these branches, they are able to work also as the technical managers in industry and services. Owing to wide fundamentals of applications-oriented study programme there is ensured high adaptability of the graduate for most the requirements of his future practice in all areas of electrical and electronic engineering, communication and control techniques.

Work experience:

The master study programme includes an obligatory 2 week professional practice of the student. The practice can be fulfilled in an arbitrary company of electrical and electronic industry, or of communication and other electronic medial providers in the Czech Republic and abroad. The practice is organised from the student itself and it should be passed outside from the regular education time in the academic year (especially in the summer vacation periods) from the begin to the end of the student master study. Final state examination:

The final state examination consists of three parts:
- The written part is formed by elaboration of the diploma work of the student, its presentation and succesful defense by the state examination commission,
- The oral part consists of the examination into obligatory subjects of the branch,
- The oral part consists of the examination into generally obligatory subjects of the branch.

Access to further studies: The graduates may continue in a doctoral study programme.
