Program Description

Personnel costs are significant, and it is critical that organisations understand their employees’ abilities, skills, and motivations, so that they can develop and implement value-creating strategies.

The MSc in Human Resources Management focuses on the theories and methods of effective human resource management, in order to develop structured and principled insights regarding effective strategic and operational human resource management. In comparison to many other HR programmes, the MSc at SDU provides graduates with the skills needed to analyse the human resources of the firm, from both a behavioural and economic perspective.

Students will develop the theoretical and practical skills needed to manage functions and projects in human resource management, and will be able to think in principled ways about the key policies and choices of recruiting and retaining talent, as well as how to apply their skills in the design of policies and programmes.

The programme is particularly suitable for students who want to pursue a career in the field of human resource management.

Entry Requirements
To apply for the Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, you need a relevant Bachelor’s degree. You can apply if you hold one of the following degrees:
• BSc in Economics and Business Administra-tion from University of Southern Denmark
• BSc in Economics (Business Economics) from University of Southern Denmark

You can also apply if you hold a similar Bachelor’s degree including a minimum of 75 ECTS within the fields of economics and business administration, comprising at least 5 ECTS within each of the following subjects:
• Microeconomics or Managerial Economics
• Accounting
• Corporate Finance
• Marketing
• Organizational theory
• Statistics

If your degree does not fulfil the entry requirements, the study board will decide whether you can follow one or more supplementary courses.
