The “Nature resources survey with aerospace facilities” master program is aimed at training highly-skilled specialists and building theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to prepare, take and implement efficient decisions in the sphere of ecology and nature management. The objects of professional activities include materials acquired from the GPS survey of Earth and the technological processes of acquiring and processing GPS data.
To apply for this Master's program, the applicant must hold a Bachelor's degree in Ecology, Nature management, Geography, Cartography, and Geo-informatics.

The significance of the remote survey in studying Earth’s natural resources became clear from the very beginning. Today aerospace techniques are of primary importance in multilateral study and mapping of Earth’s surface. A distinctive feature of aerospace techniques is their remote character, that is, they do not require any direct contact with the object of study, and therefore, the direct survey is reduced to a minimum. Aerospace techniques make it possible to perform a big part of the work indoors (in a laboratory or an office), to work faster and to achieve a higher validity and completeness of research and survey.
The combination of vocational subjects within this master program is constantly improved due to computer technologies, including GIS and other research technologies that require state-of-the-art laboratory equipment. Students learn to use the latest geo-informational technologies at the laboratories of the “Federal and regional center for aerospace and land-based monitoring of objects and natural resources” resource sharing facility.

Skills and competencies
Students are taught to find appropriate solutions to contemporary scientific issues in ecology and nature management. They acquire competencies in monitoring nature management environment, remote sensing, environmental consulting and auditing and build skills in landscape design, aerospace shots interpretation, GIS-analysis, forecasting, dangerous nature phenomena risk assessment, as well as in the simulation of ecological systems and processes. Students will also become competent in nature management administration, contemporary challenges of nature management and so on.

After passing the entrance exams, students choose the field of research for writing a thesis. Each student will have a research advisor to consult them throughout the theoretical and practical stages of the program and help them in preparing their master thesis.
Admission to International Master Programs is open to both Russian and international students. Given that all classes will be conducted in English, we recommend that non-native speakers of English achieve a TOEFL score of at least 525 (paper-based) or 200 (computer-based) prior to admission. To apply for a two-year Master's program, the applicant must hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Upon completion of the program, the applicant will receive a Russian State diploma with a European supplement.
The deadline to submit the application is August 8, 2020, however, international students are strongly encouraged to apply by July 18, 2020.
