Program Description

Overview

The Master Course in Ecohydrology aims to create specialists with a transdisciplinary the vision of global water issues, including ecosystem functioning, understanding of the pressures on aquatic ecosystems under global changes and that are able to develop and to implement sustainable solutions for the restoration of aquatic ecosystems. Graduates in Ecohydrology will be able to develop their professional activities in research institutes, universities and public or private institutions, or companies dealing with water resources and management.

Admission Requirements:

Number of slots: 25

Minimum number of students: 8

Conditions of access:

  1. Holders of Bachelor's degree (or legal equivalent) in sciences: Environmental Sciences, Biology, Marine Biology, Marine Sciences, Landscape Architecture, Biological Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biophysical Engineering or other related courses.
  2. Holders of a foreign higher education degree equivalent to the 1st cycle of studies organized in accordance with the Bologna Process by a state adhering to this process.
  3. Holders of a foreign higher education degree that is recognized as meeting the objectives of the degree of “Licenciado” (bachelor of science).
  4. holders of a school, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized by the Scientific Council, as attesting the merit and ability to carry out this cycle of studies.

The acceptance of a candidate based on criteria 1 to 4 is the responsibility of the Scientific Council (Conselho Científico) of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology (Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia) of Algarve University and does not confer to the candidate formal recognition or equivalency to the degree of “Licenciado” or any other academic degree


Criteria for selection of the candidates: academic background; final grade of BSc, professional experience.

Necessary documents: Curriculum vitae (with personal, academic and professional information); certificates of qualification with the discrimination of the classifications obtained in each unit; proof of payment of the registration fee
