Design Management is an activity that has as main objective the good incorporation of design in companies, aggregating the creative and innovation areas of design knowledge, with the strategic and business thinking of management and marketing. The ability to conceive and plan creative processes in the research, analysis, conceptualization and execution phases are key competences of a design manager that translate into concrete results achieved by companies in the market.
The Master in Design Management encompasses the entire strategic and operational process within a business organization as a way to create products, brands and services that are increasingly adjusted to the needs of consumers and a competitive market.
This program is based on technology, being composed of a strong innovation component and focused on the development of entrepreneurship.
- Complementarity of three areas that allow the development of integrated thinking about the entire creation process: design, management and marketing, in order to provide competitive products, services and brands.
- Heterogeneous and collaborative environment that gives the student the ability to work immersively and with greater practical involvement in design thinking processes and other methodologies, essential to generate innovation and knowledge.
- It guides to the identification of innovation opportunities focused on specific contexts (market or organizational) and to the conceptualization and planning of solutions.
- Promotion of contact with the business reality, either through seminars and thematic workshops with leaders and reference professionals, or through immersion activities at the Factory.
The Factory is IADE special project agency. Its main mission is to leverage IADE reputation and brand recognition. In this unit, where value and knowledge are manufactured, the relationship between students, teachers, laboratories and civil society is clearly emphasized.
The Factory's projects are essentially defined in three lines of action: parallel manufacturing (development of extracurricular projects); curriculum fabrication (projects within the academic context and in collaboration with civil society partners) and fabrication of the future (research applied to the development of projects designed and created from scratch).
The Master aims to train multifaceted professionals with design management skills that allow them to manage the design processes in a company, create their own company or work in advertising, communication, branding or marketing agencies (Design Managers, Product or Service Managers, Product or Service Designers, Strategic Managers, Brand Managers, Design and Marketing Consultants, Creative Directors, UX Designers).
The Masters in Design Management will also be prepared to start a teaching or university research career.
