The Master in Criminalistics is focused on the academic training of professionals to face the phenomenon of criminality from the knowledge provided by certain sciences, both legal and criminological, and approach it from different approaches and on a multidisciplinary level provided by the expert evidence derived from the application of scientific and technical knowledge in the analysis of the vestiges left by the author of the act in the criminal setting with the purpose of promoting investigation and technical preparation, effective and fruitful skills and abilities that respond to the demands and policies established the Ecuadorian state for this area of knowledge.

  • Master the theoretical aspects of the different disciplines that make up Criminalistics for the study and investigation of evidence and / or physical evidence in crimes.
  • Recognize, individualize and evaluate the evidence and / or physical evidence, by applying forensic science in accordance with legal regulations.
  • Determine the scope of the expert analysis in relation to biological samples of human origin, electronic devices, digital evidence, and others.
  • Carry out analysis of the skills practiced to determine, classify and identify the key indications and / or evidences for the judicial process.
  • Apply the analytical and interpretive methodology of the results.
  • Apply the technical protocols, chain of custody and traceability of the signs and / or evidence, and samples.

  • Perform as a specialized professional who has competences and knowledge in this field, which empowers him for investigation, helping to clarify the crime, through the technical demonstration of the facts in criminal cases that affect our society.
  • Participate in work teams that lead to the necessary reforms of both the Organic Criminal Code and the Law on crimes, sanctions, procedures, adjusted to national and international social reality.

Online methodology

The program is taught in blended learning, with face-to-face classes at least 1 weekend a month (Saturday and Sunday).

The student will carry out the program online by accessing the virtual training platform of the IMF Business School. This training will be guided by the teachers, and there will be 2 synchronous webinars per subject, which will be complemented with the face-to-face sessions to be held in the city of Quito.

The OpenUIDE Master in Criminalistics benefits from all this experience that the Blended learning modality has acquired in their undergraduate careers as well as the merger with IMF Business School and their extensive experience in virtual training of graduate and master's programs. In addition to the above, the Management of Information Systems and Blended Business Technology is based on a practical methodology focused on the labor market. Therefore, from the beginning to the end of the program, all theoretical knowledge is projected on a practical case study, from which their data and problems will be analyzed and discussed, actively contributing to the progress of the course with sustained and relevant contributions. The student's training activity in online education is centered around the technological and communicative elements, multimedia content, synchronous or asynchronous communication systems, learning resources, virtual communities, computer tools, autonomous learning and collaborative work. , the same that allow achieving the learning results established in the program.

For quality assurance, there is a suitable technical team with learning resources and technological platforms that guarantee its execution. The technological model that the online modality uses is e-learning supported by the Moodle LMS Learning Management System. It is a platform that, through a course management system, helps to develop your learning model based on autonomous, independent, guided, collaborative and cooperative work:
