The Chemistry Masters is a high-level degree course with leading professors from around the world. It provides the unique educational opportunity in an international student environment. The core and optional courses present in the program allow a range of learning and training opportunities that allow for a wide range of employment and research opportunities, born from close ties with local and international industrial partners.
This Master’s Degree prepares students with an advanced knowledge and skills in the most important areas of Chemistry (Physical, Inorganic, Organic and Biochemistry). These studies will prepare the student for a wide range of professional activities as well as continued doctoral studies. Lessons are complemented with specific lectures on subjects related to chemistry for life science or for sustainable development. The second year activity includes with 300 hours of internship in companies working in all fields of chemistry. The students will complete their studies by participating in a high level research project (6-8 months) within international research groups at theUniversity of Siena or other public or private institutions.
International students wishing to apply for a Laurea Magistrale (Master’s Degree) must possess a degree or a university three-year diploma, or another study qualification from overseas, recognized as suitable, and with specific curricular requisites and adequate personal preparation, verified with the modes set out in the learning regulations for each master’s degree course, that also state the specific access criteria.
Please note that some programmes may have a restricted access and the application could be subject to admission tests.
International students wishing to enroll at a first cycle (bachelor - laurea triennale) degree programme taught in Italian or English or to the non-restricted access single cycle degree in Giurisprudenza at the University of Siena, can submit their documents in order to receive a letter of acceptance through the online platform within the deadline set by the University for each academic year.
The applications on the online platform for the assessment of entry qualifications of international students wishing to enroll on a first (undergraduate) or second (master's) cycle degree programme taught in Italian or English at the University of Siena will have different time frames according to the different courses. Students are invited to visit periodically this platform - http://enrolment.unisi.it/ - in order to see which applications are open and the relevant deadlines.
Universities and Higher Education Institutions are entitled to officially recognize international qualifications.
Please remember that this procedure does not transform a foreign secondary school diploma into an Italian qualification.
