Master in Business Administration

General

Program Description

A bank and an insurance company. Two businesses in the same sector. Just like a shipper and a haulier. What do they have in common, and what are the differences? How do they complement each other? And why are some more successful than others? If you are curious about the ins and outs of this ‘game’, about the companies active in business services and about the people who work for them, then Business Administration is the Master’s programme for you.

Because business services is a very wide-ranging industry, so too is this degree. You engage in an in-depth analysis of companies from a variety of sectors. You specialize in specific business processes. And you make use of know-how drawn from information technology, economics and the social sciences.

Study Programme

The Master’s programme in Business Administration has a multidisciplinary focus. Thus, you will start by specializing in a particular business process and study this using knowledge from several disciplines. As the programme is an academic one, it provides you with rigorous academic training and acquaints you with the state-of-the-art theoretical background.

This is a one-year full-time programme. Upon successful completion of the course, you will have obtained specialist knowledge in the area of your specialization and you will receive an internationally recognized Master of Science degree (MSc) in Business Administration. You complete the programme by writing a Master’s thesis about your own research on a specific topic in the master’s specialization programme of Business Administration.

Each specialization pays ample attention to research skills. To this end, two so-called Research Seminars are organized, in which attention is paid to academic skills, research methodology, research types relevant to the specialization etc. It is also possible to devote a research seminar to integration or casework, e.g. by scheduling a ‘Managerial Integration Project,’ in which various disciplines have to be combined in the analysis and solution of a concrete business problem. The contents of the research seminars may form a continuous programme or maybe scheduled separately. For detailed information see the specializations.
