Programme description

Asia-Europe Relations: Exploring Business Opportunities studies merge in an original and creative way teaching oriental languages effectively with the whole spectrum of social, economic, and cultural aspects of business practice in Asia and Europe and multilevel relations between them. During the course of study, students learn about the specificity of actors in both regions viewed from a comparative perspective. The curriculum also aims to develop analytical and communication skills. Students choose an oriental language which they will learn for the whole duration of the study programme.

Learning the oriental language is an important part of the education process.

Students earn 120 ECTS points over the course of the programme: 51 ECTS for optional courses and 69 ECTS for compulsory courses (including 15 ECTS for seminars).

Work training

Completing work training is not compulsory but as a result of our cooperation with various institutions, interested students may benefit from what they offer.

Student academic societies

There are two student academic societies at the Institute of the Middle and Far East: Academic Society for the Far East and Academic Society for the Middle East.

Graduate’s profile

Graduates from the Asia-Europe Relations: Exploring Business Opportunities programme are well-prepared for taking a position in international corporations and institutions, as well in domestic institutions engaged in Asia-Europe cooperation, or in non-governmental organizations focused on the analysis of the international situation in global and regional aspects. Their knowledge and competencies may carry a special value for Asian companies operating in Europe and for European companies present on Asian markets.

Professional development

Graduates from Asia–Europe Relations: Exploring Business Opportunities programme are well-prepared for taking a position of analyst and middle-level officer in international corporations and institutions, as well in domestic institutions invested in Asia–Europe cooperation, or in non-governmental organizations focused on the analysis of the international situation in global and regional aspects. Their knowledge and competencies may be carried especial value for Asian companies operating in Europe and for European companies invested in Asian markets.

Access to further study

Graduates can pursue third-cycle study in the field of social sciences and the humanities.

Language competencies

Basic knowledge of an oriental language, at least at A2 level.

Qualification result

Candidates will be placed on the ranking list according to their registration date and time within the scheduled registration period.

Application fee

The application fee is 20 USD (or 75 PLN, or 18 EUR). The fee is paid separately for each registration and each registration has its own bank account number assigned for the payment.

Tuition fee

  • tuition for the first year: 8 300 PLN (approx. 2 500 USD)
  • tuition for the second year: 8 300 PLN (approx. 2 500 USD)

Tuition is paid in the amount for one semester, no later than by the first day of classes.
