About the specialisation: Arts, Culture & Society
In this specialisation of the Master Arts and Culture Studies, you will gain knowledge and get a better understanding of development, establishment and strategies of the international art world. You will study these aspects in relation to developments in society as a whole. After graduation, you are a professional in the field of arts and culture, who can contribute to theory and research on policy and organisational issues within the art world.
For promising candidates who do not meet all entry requirements, we run a one-year pre-master programme. This preparatory programme caters in particular for students who have little experience with sociology and research methods. During the pre-master programme, you will enrol in selected courses at the bachelor level of Arts and Culture Studies. You will become acquainted with key concepts within sociology, history, cultural theory and international exchange of arts and culture. In addition, we offer a number of courses that have been specially developed for the pre-master year. Upon completion of the pre-master, you will have all the knowledge you will need to meet the requirements of the master programme in Arts and Culture Studies.
