Specific admission requirements: Condition for admitting is obtaining a bachelor's degree.

Key learning outcomes:

The study program is aimed at achieving such a degree of the graduates' qualification that in the process of authorization - at his joining of the Czech Chamber of Architects - he is able to prove the required knowledge and skills.

Work experience

Specialised study is aimed at educating a highly qualified conceptual worker in the field of architecture and urban design. The graduates gain the knowledge and skills qualifying them to meet the conditions of the Authorisation Rules of the Czech Chamber of Architects, which enables them to pursue a freelance profession.

Final state examination

- oral examination in land use planning, building law and building regulations
- defence of diploma project

Course of study

In the first year of the master degree study at an authorised architect, the students go through a two-semester professional practice in an architectural and structural design office. This practice is pursued in accordance with the "Rules of professional practice in the master degree study program of the FA BUT" which forms part of the "Study and Examination Order of the FA BUT. This practice can be passed at a workplace in the Czech Republic or, possibly, abroad - under identical conditions. The practice has to be registered in the record book issued by FA BUT. The record book must be monthly checked by the employer. During the time of practice, the student keeps a diary which is checked twice per semester by the appointed teacher.
The objective of the practice is to acquaint the student of the master degree study program with the conditions and relations prevailing in architectural design offices, so that already during the study, he gains experience which, after graduation, will facilitate his professional engagement. The student also acquires up-to-date knowledge which can inspire and stimulate him to further study and improve his preparation before he is assigned the diploma project.

Access to further studies: The graduates may continue in a doctoral study programme.
