Program Description
Advanced education and research in the field of Agriculture and Life Sciences
The master’s program consists of five courses:
- Biology
- Biochemistry & Molecular Biology
- Applied Biosciences
- Agriculture & Horticulture
- Agricultural & Environmental Engineering
Students may choose one of two academic programs depending on their future plans: the academic research program (training of researchers) or practical research program (training of technical experts).
The Master’s degree in Agriculture and Life Sciences is awarded to those who have earned enough credits and have submitted an approved dissertation. We are aiming for understanding a widespread technique and the training of the altitude specialist who can contribute to the development of the expert community, a superior engineer with an international field of vision, and the researcher who receives the request in the times in advance and can challenge an advanced study.

About the School
Hirosaki University was established in the former castle town of Hirosaki in 1949. It is a national university and is located in Aomori Prefecture, situated at the northern end of Honshu Island.
