The International Master's Program "Advanced Network Technologies in Telecommunications

The International Master's Program in Advanced Network Technologies in Telecommunications is a high-level international graduate program offered by MTUCI in English to national and foreign students with B.Sc. degree. The program is a joint initiative of the Faculty of Communications Systems and Networks (FCSN) of MTUCI and Training Centers (TC) created by MTUCI with world-leading telecommunications companies Ericsson, Cisco Systems, Alcatel-Lucent and Huawei Technologies.

The program is supported by the Faculty of International Students (FIS) and the International Projects and Programs Department (IPPD) of MTUCI. The program provides the students with a solid background in the theory and fundamental concepts, insight into current trends and with practice on modern telecommunication equipment of next-generation networks supplied by well-known Vendors. This Master's program at MTUCI is unique in the world in offering all these facets in a single degree course at one and the same university.

The received knowledge and competencies are sufficient for professional contribution in performing research, developing, planning and analysis within a number of areas in telecommunications, solving of fundamental and applied scientific-research and industrial issues in ICT and converged fields.

Structure of the Program

The Master's program takes 2 years (4 semesters), including 6 months for the completion of the master's thesis. The curriculum consists of obligatory general science and professional part and correspondence variable parts chosen by students, in accordance with Russian Federation educational standards as a participant in the European Bologna process. The significant part of the program is devoted to the theoretical and practical realization of world-leading TELECOM solutions suppliers Ericsson, Cisco Systems, Alcatel-Lucent and Huawei Technologies. The program is completed by master's thesis on chosen by student professional direction of preparation. Below we list the examples of the IMP's courses:

Admission Requirements

A recognized B.Sc. degree (in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or Communications Engineering or Computer Science) is a prerequisite for admission. All teaching is conducted in English. The recommended level of English knowledge is at least B1. Knowledge of Russian language is not necessary. A modest knowledge of Russian may be helpful for daily life. Russian language courses are available at MTUCI language center. Every IMP applicant should pass an entry written exam at MTUCI on basic telecommunications and their applications knowledge. The entrance exam on Telecommunications will take place in 1st-10th of September 2015.
