Master Programme in Sociology, Specialisation Intercultural Mediation
We put great emphasis on the topic of Intercultural Mediation which means we help you understand how culture (in its great variety) informs social change and how it can be facilitated using the knowledge on how people create social groups, how they communicate, what kind of internal and external factors influence how society works.
The master programme in sociology, specialisation "Intercultural mediation" is offered by the Institute of Sociology at the University of Wroclaw. It is the oldest research and educational centre in Wrocław offering BA and MA programmes in sociology based on highly qualified staff.
Acquire knowledge and skills useful in intercultural communication. Practice conflict resolution and manage social integration. Carry out own social research on multiculturalism, migration and social change. Use your expertise in work in European, state and local institutions, NGOs and private sector companies. Study in Wrocław where history and every day life meet in constant need for intercultural mediation! The programme involves 895 teaching hours (121 ECTS).
The entry requirements for the English language Master Program in Sociology - Intercultural Mediation.
- BA degree or recognized equivalent in social sciences, humanities and economics;
- proficiency in English certified by a test (IELTS with minimum score 6 or TOEFL with minimum score 550 or equivalent test), N/A if English was a BA studies language of tuition or is a native language.
- a candidate must fulfil the procedural and administrative conditions defined for all the candidates for studies at the University of Wrocław.
- all the applications are evaluated by Coordinator of the Master Programme in Sociology - Intercultural mediation
- documents needed: secondary school certificate, bachelor degree certificate, secondary school transcript, bachelor degree transcript, proof of English proficiency, confirmation of registration fee payment, medical certificate, passport photocopy, photo.
The programme is based on the synergy with the international Master Programme Erasmus Mundus MITRA (Médiation interculturelle: identités, mobilités, conflits) in which the Institute of Sociology is also involved.
