Introduction
A master’s degree offers the opportunity to specialize in a specific area. This increases your chances of standing out from the broad mass of university graduates, completing a doctorate or pursuing scientific work. In addition, many employers attach great importance to well-trained skills, which you can learn during your bachelor's degree and expand and deepen with a master's degree.
The ITM master's degree builds on a previous bachelor's or diploma degree with a focus on management and tourism and is designed in such a way that you can either complete it after completing your ITM bachelor's degree at the West Coast University of Applied Sciences, a tourism degree at another university of applied sciences or be able to study after completing a related subject. This means for you: You refine the skills you have learned and deepen important key qualifications. The focus is on the three areas of tourism, management and method competence. Coupled with our application-oriented training, you will develop important skills for your future professional life. Our master's program prepares you for an exciting management position in a national or international company.
Reasons for ITM at the West Coast University of Applied Sciences
The Fachhochschule Westküste is right in the middle of one of Germany's top tourism destinations. Well-known travel destinations such as Büsum, St. Peter-Ording, Sylt or the metropolis of Hamburg are in the immediate vicinity. So you study with us where other people spend their holidays!
Committed lecturers and the family atmosphere at the university enable effective learning in small groups. The modern equipment of the premises also offers advantages.
International orientation and integration with practice
The Master's takes place in English and is very internationally oriented, as our students come to us from all over the world to obtain their Master's degree here. This gives you the opportunity to sharpen your intercultural skills.
Unlike the ITM bachelor’s degree, a stay abroad is not mandatory for the master’s degree. Nevertheless, you can also go to a foreign (partner) university for a semester and study there. Our large network of partner universities is available to you.
The application of the acquired knowledge is also very important in the master's program. For this you can fall back on a large number of cooperations with external practice partners. Through the German Institute for Tourism Research, which is based here, exciting research projects are carried into teaching and worked on by you.
