The Master of Science in Economics aims to train specialists who, from in-depth knowledge of the functioning of the economic system, are able to perform some of the more sophisticated features of its public administration and financial institutions. The course offers, in fact, two curricula (Public Administration, Environment and Land Markets Monetary and Financial); one concerning the formation of an expert able to prefigure and analyze the economic impact of public policies of the State and the local communities. This expert can interpret the local development needs and environmental conservation and is able to support the policy maker in the programming activities in the economic and social. The other profile is that of an economist specializing in the functioning of money and financial markets. This professional is able to seamlessly address the complex issues related to the functioning of financial markets, banking intermediation, and to insurance. The frameworks of the course offered are those that develop around the study of money, banking, and financial markets that is of that branch of economics that is geared to the study of methods of allocation and distribution of resources under uncertainty. For the methodological approach and attention to theoretical / formal aspects, both professionals possess a high mastery of the various areas of specialization of the advanced research techniques applied.


General educational goals.
The Master of Science in Economics (SE) aims to train graduates with high specialist knowledge on the functioning of the economy at the macro level of the individual firm operating at the micro level. Therefore he must be able to analyze the complexities of contemporary society, to understand the operation of comparative economic systems in their aggregate and at the individual level behavior of agents (households and businesses, consumers and producers), and to resolve economic and social problems both levels of aggregation.

These professionals have in-depth expertise of the management mechanisms of monetary policy by central banks and the transmission of its effects in the economic system, as well as their influence on interest rates. The duration of the course is two years for a total of 120 credits, divided into 10 compulsory exams and one choice. 6 credits must also be obtained in the "training and other activities." The second semester of the second year does not provide for mandatory exams: the maximum effort is required for students on the draft thesis, through which you will have to demonstrate that they have acquired sufficient knowledge of the methods and persviluppare knowledge, of a theoretical nature and topic / or empirical or a professional practice consistent with the route chosen, a written dissertation containing high innovative elements, at least 10,000 words.

The knowledge acquired with the attainment of a bachelor degree belonging to classes L-18 and L-33 (MD 270) and classes 17:28 (DM 509), associated with the knowledge of English, are suitable curricular requirements for access the Master of Science. For students holding diplomas from different class from those stated above it will be rated the curriculum for the basic content about the economic and political disciplines and economicoaziendali, principles and legal institutions, the mathematical and statistical tools.
