Program Description

The Master Brand Extension examines the startup and management variables of a Licensing project , examining the increasingly stringent relationships with Brand Extension, Contract and Merchandising activities . Areas and activities today interconnected with a common objective: to seek business growth through the enhancement of the brand in all areas and product sectors. The teaching approach is innovative and interactive, as it deals with the themes dealt with in a synergic and transversal way, and correlates them through a sort of "direction".

Educational goals

The Master provides the tools to be able to express themselves in the field of work, immediately, at good professional levels. We will study the synergic roles that the marketing and creative sectors of the company carry out in implementing the most suitable strategies for devising new types of products and services . In particular in the Brand-Extension concept , the project development methods will be tackled, from strategy and organization, to the design and planning of the goods to be placed on the market.

Title issued

At the end of the course, upon passing the final exam, the "Brand Extension (Licensing Strategies: from Design to Business)" Master's degree will be awarded.

Teaching

The Master will be delivered in Italian .

The Master has a duration of one year. The start is scheduled for September 2020 .

Educational plan

The student will be able to link different subjects together, putting into practice the different areas of creativity with partner companies. The training topics are crossed with each other: Value Construction: Merchandising, Brand Extension, Licensing, Brand-Protection; Licensing Project: Marketing, Strategy, Communication, Distribution; Creative Process: Project Architecture, Design, Production, Service.

Traditional lessons are alternated with case discussions, meetings with representatives of the business world, exercises and application work: Company Visit: field activities to enhance the skills acquired in the field; Project Work: brand extension project commissioned by partner companies: Business Game: simulation game in which to experiment strategic skills and a collaborative spirit.

Admission procedure

How to participate

Attendance at the activities provided for by the Master is mandatory for at least 75% of the course activities.

The renunciation of the course must be expressed in writing. The training period cannot be suspended for any reason. It is not possible to enroll at the same time as a university master and another course of study activated by an Italian university.

Admission requirements

Candidates with a Master's Degree or Master's Degree in design, engineering, architecture, economics and commerce, marketing and communication are admitted to the Master's course (or in disciplines other than those listed, if the Master is considered a valid completion of training) For foreign candidates the equivalent qualifications in the respective study systems will be considered valid.

The selection will be by the Commission.

Admission procedure

To participate in the selections it is necessary to fill in the selection application online within the following deadlines:

  • Italian / foreign citizens with a qualification obtained in Italy by 30 August 2020.
  • Non-EU citizens with a qualification obtained abroad by 30 July 2020.

Cost

The cost of the Master is € 12,000 (€ 11,500 cost of the Master + € 500 enrollment fee at the Politecnico di Milano) EXEMPT VAT ART. 10 DPR 633/72.

For students who have already attended the Licensing & Brand Extension Course of POLI.design the registration fee is € 8,000 divided into: Enrollment fee at the Politecnico di Milano € 500 per student and participation fee for the Master, equal to € 7,500 per student.
