Master’s in Accounting with Research Project and Courses

Requirements for obtaining a master's degree in Accounting:


To obtain a master's degree in accounting student must complete at least:

(42) units, including a research project, and be distributed as follows:

(24) unit, form approved compulsory courses.

(9) unit, from approved internal optional courses.

(6) unit, from approved external optional courses.

(3) unit, approved research project.



The following is a breakdown of:


A - The compulsory courses (24) certified unit:

  1. Accounting theory
  2. Contemporary accounting topics
  3. Administrative and accounting costs
  4. Auditing Theory
  5. Studies in Islamic accounting thought
  6. Research methods and quantitative analysis
  7. Administrative economy
  8. Strategic management


B - Optional courses (9) credits from the Accounting Department:


Students choose with the direction of the supervisor and the approval of the Department Chair (9) and the approved electives of the following:
Advanced studies in financial accounting

  1. Advanced studies in managerial accounting
  2. Accounting and administrative information systems
  3. Advanced Studies Auditing
  4. Zakaah accounting and tax


C - Optional courses (6) credits from outside the Accounting Department:


Students choose with the direction of the supervisor and the approval of the Department Chair (6) and the approved electives of the following:

  1. Advanced Marketing Management
  2. Investment Analysis
  3. Economic development
  4. Economic feasibility studies for industrial projects
  5. Saudi Comparative Commercial Law


D – Research Project (3) credit units:
