The Master’s Program in Industrial Economics and Management is a two-year technical science education for you who want to broaden and deepen your technical education. The program provides you advanced knowledge in business and organizational operations in a modern and dynamic business world. You will be equipped with strategic and operational skills with technical-related business and organizational development, product and process innovations, and management skills in knowledge-intensive enterprises and organizations.
Choose between two specialized tracks
The courses within the program deal with complex problems and challenges many engineers and employees in technical roles encounter in their lines of work. The program covers topics ranging from an analysis of business dynamics and industrial transformation, technical-based businesses, entrepreneurship, to strategy and innovation among established, as well as new and growing, companies and industries.
The program offers two specialized tracks, both with a strong connection to the research frontier in industrial economics and management.
Track 1: Competition, production, and financial analysis are suitable for you who want to develop your skills in quantitative analysis and optimization in connection to production, financing, and investment issues.
Track 2: Marketing analysis, entrepreneurship, and strategy is a perfect fit for you who want to develop your knowledge and skills in strategy and business development.
Program Content
The Master’s program in Industrial Economics and Management comprises of advanced courses within the main field of study, industrial economics and management, accounting for a total of 120 credits. The courses within the program cover various topics such as market analysis, optimization and financial theories, strategy and business development, innovation and technical-based entrepreneurship, management, and advanced research methods. During the third semester, you will be able to choose your specialization from our two tracks: (i) Competition, production, and financial analysis and (ii) Market analysis, entrepreneurship, and strategy.
During the third semester, you also have the opportunity to study abroad at our partner universities around the world. The education concludes in the fourth semester, where the students write their degree project (30 credits).
The design of this program follows these two principles: (i) the program comprises of clearly specified assignments and courses that build upon and exploit prior general knowledge of the students within natural science, mathematics, and technical subjects, and (ii) the program is based on and is related to advanced problems and topics that engineers and employees in technical roles encounter in their lines of work within many types of companies and industries. The courses within the program not only combine theories with empirical assignments, but also with advanced mathematical, statistical, and analytical methods.
The program is campus-based and proceeds as full-time study. The teaching is given in the form of lectures, seminars, and exercises. Depending on the nature of the course, you will conduct your study independently or collaborate in groups in the form of projects or written and oral assignments. The program is conducted entirely in English.

demonstrate deepened knowledge of methods within specified sub-areas within the main field of industrial economics and management.
Skills and abilities
Upon completion of the program the student shall:
demonstrate the ability to use advanced methods and models appropriately within the main field of industrial economics and management,
demonstrate the ability to choose, adapt, and critically assess methods to address a specific problem,
demonstrate the ability to, independently and in a group, integrate knowledge, analyze and manage complex phenomena according to scientific principles,
demonstrate the ability to critically, creatively, and independently identify, formulate, assess, and answer scientific questions within the field in a scientifically sound way.

Judgment and approach
Upon completion of the program the student shall:
demonstrate the ability to critically evaluate problems and suggested solutions within a project in industrial economics and management,
