This course includes two streams, MSc/PgDip Design Engineering with Sustainability and MSc/PgDip Design Engineering with Advanced Product Development. It aims to address the issues associated with a rapidly changing market and the demands for better, cheaper and personalized products developed within the shortest possible time. It will provide a thorough training in design theories and process models, design methods, design techniques, computer-supported product modeling, analysis, evaluation and digital and physical rapid prototyping of a design solution.
This programme offers students challenging, cross-disciplinary modules that are specifically designed to provide a well-rounded education on the multitude of issues in sustainable development.
The PGDip/MSc in Sustainable Aquaculture offers a range of part-time, e-learning, postgraduate-level modules which aim to develop students' critical understanding of the development and principles of aquaculture.
The programme is designed as an institutional collaboration between the University of Edinburgh and SASA (Science and Advice for Scottish Agriculture), a government facility which houses the UK wildlife DNA forensics laboratory. Students will have a unique opportunity to learn from internationally recognised specialists in the application of genetic analysis to conservation management and wildlife forensics.
