What is an MSc in Sociocultural Anthropology? Sociocultural anthropology looks at sociology, political economy and anthropology to get a better understanding of where biopolitics, nationalism, modernity and colonialism intersect. Like other MSc programs, this study may include research projects, lectures, dissertations and fieldwork. Students are encouraged to participate in required and elective courses that may include principles and applications of sociocultural theory, social theory and contemporary questions, religion and media, key debates in anthropology, theory for ethnographic practices, and reading, writing and ethnography.

This course of study provides students with a variety of skills and understandings they can use to improve their career opportunities and everyday lives. For example, graduates may have stronger analytical, communication and organizational skills after finishing this degree program.
