The elite Master of Science Degree programme in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) is the first of its kind to be launched by any university within the West African sub-region.
According to the Head of the Department of Planning and Development of the CSUC Mr. Paul Kitson B. Asamoah, with Ghana’s increasing reliance on international bodies and donor agencies for funds and other forms of support to propel development plans, programmes and projects, there is the need to train high caliber professionals at the postgraduate level in monitoring and evaluation. “In-depth knowledge in monitoring and evaluation is scant and is in bits. It is not comprehensive. And where organizations need personnel with comprehensive knowledge and skills in M&E, they often spend thousands of dollars to send them abroad to receive training,” said Mr. Asamoah. “The initiative of the CSUC President Prof. Sam Afrane in bringing this programme to your doorstep is commendable and becomes a better and more cost-effective means of obtaining a quality education and training in M&E,” added Mr. Asamoah. The Programme which has both theoretical and practical components is hands-on with 12 months intensive coursework and research components as well as an extra three months for the dissertation.
