The Master of Science Programme in Psychology comprises a total of 120 higher education credits, including a Master’s thesis of 30 credits. The programme provides specialisation and breadth in the field of psychology. The aim of the programme is to provide you with a Master’s degree firmly based on current research and to offer broad career opportunities.

Within the programme, you have the possibility of selecting courses of your own interest. Please note that the programme does not lead to a licence as a clinical psychologist.

The first semester focuses on theoretical and practical tools for psychology. The students get a grounding in the philosophy of psychology and cognitive science, which encompasses both current areas like embodied and extended cognition as well as the enduring questions about free will, consciousness and the role of folk psychology. Students participate in day labs with prominent researchers in different subfields, getting hands-on experience with the range of research methods used in the department.
