Why are there so many people called Dennis living in Denver, for example? And why does one person become addicted and not another? Behavioural scientists at Radboud University know the answers. The Master's in Behavioural Science distinguishes itself internationally by its multidisciplinary approach and the special laboratory facilities that are available for studying human behaviour.

Unique facilities

The Master’s programme is closely related to the research being carried out in the internationally renowned Behavioural Science Institute. This institute has several unique facilities for carrying out experimental research. One example is our Virtual Reality Laboratory where we can observe people’s (often unconscious) behaviour. In order to study the way in which addicts behave we have a Bar Lab. Our mobile lab is also unique. This EEG bus makes it possible for us to measure processes in the brain at specific locations like school, for example. Finally, we are able to use the new EEG, fMRI and MEG facilities of the Donders Institute for Neuroimaging. Of course you too – as a Master’s student – will be able to use these facilities to increase your capacity to manage new experimental research techniques.... [-]

If you want to be in the front line of scientific research then Radboud University is the place to be. A concentration of top scientists from all over the world, combined with state-of-the-art technology, has resulted in an environment in which the brain is revealing its secrets.

Unique approach

The Cognitive Neuroscience Master’s programme at the Radboud University is unique in the world because of its multidisciplinary approach. Technological development offers new possibilities to make people's daily lives more healthy, safe, understandable, independent, fun and comfortable. ... [+]

Technological development offers new possibilities to make people's daily lives more healthy, safe, understandable, independent, fun and comfortable. New technologies provide us, for instance, with energy-friendly and sustainable solutions to improve the environment in which we live as well as tools for elderly people to live longer on their own. Furthermore, new technologies provide us with new means of communication and new ways of entertainment. Examples are smartphones, ambient intelligence and smart homes, online shopping and communities, 3D television and renewable energy technologies like hydrogen technology and biomass.

For these technologies to be really successful, people will need to be able to use them properly as well as trust, accept and adopt them. As a Human-Technology Interaction engineer, you are typically concerned with topics that require a profound understanding of both the human and technological aspects. You will learn about usability, ergonomics, perception, cognition, decision making, social psychology, consumer behavior and environmental psychology. Simultaneously, as a Human-Technology Interaction engineer, you will need a thorough understanding of technology. Therefore, a substantial part of the Master’s Program will consist of engineering courses in the area of your interest.... [-]
