Turkey, officially the Republic of Turkey, is a transcontinental country, located mostly on Anatolia in Western Asia and on East Thrace in Southeastern Europe. Many Turkish universities (both public and private) are participating in pan-European student exchange programs (Socrates, Erasmus, and the like). Some also have agreements with non-European universities, too.

The M.S. and Ph.D. programs produce leading research mathematicians. Throughout both programs, there is a strong emphasis on supervised research towards a thesis. To provide a solid foundation for subsequent professional work, each program includes 7 courses based on lectures to small elite classes. The aim of the programs is to develop students into mathematicians who can pursue original and creative research. The program emphasizes research in pure and applied mathematics. -
