About the MSc
The developments in biological science and the use of new technologies have blurred the classic division of the subject into sub-fields. As a result, a broad and inclusive approach to solving fundamental problems in life sciences is needed today, requiring interdisciplinary knowledge and the use of a range of technologies. Graduate students must, therefore, have interdisciplinary training that is not focused on the specific field of their research.... [-]

This innovative interdisciplinary program is open to outstanding students worldwide interested in obtaining an MSc in Plant Sciences with an emphasis in Food Safety and Security.
The program's curriculum combines academic research with hands-on agricultural experience in the Arava desert, Israel’s largest vegetable exporting region. It provides the students with academic knowledge with leading faculty, opportunities to gain practical skills and the chance to be a part of creating a sustainable future.
The program offers students an internship opportunity to gain first-hand experience in advanced desert agriculture throughout their studies. The internship is part of an agreement with the Central Arava Council which provides students with tuition assistance.... [-]
Using the Eastern Mediterranean as a natural marine laboratory, the International M.Sc. Program in Marine Geosciences provides students with a unique opportunity to develop practical scientific experience at sea, together with a rigorous academic curriculum. [+]
The University of Haifa is home to the foremost, and only sea-going marine research department in Israel. Established in 2007 as part of the multidisciplinary Leon H. Charney School of Marine Sciences, the Department of Marine Geosciences (DMG) combines research and graduate studies of the marine environment.
The Academic Program
Using the Eastern Mediterranean as a natural marine laboratory, the International M.Sc. Program in Marine Geosciences provides students with a unique opportunity to develop practical scientific experience at sea, together with a rigorous academic curriculum.
Students will study a range of topics. These topics include the structure of the seafloor; the Earth's crust below it and the search for energy sources (oil, gas, hydrates); dynamics of the water body above it; sea level variations and their relation to tectonic and climate changes; coastline developments in present and past times; and present and past influences on human evolution....
