MSc Programs in Heritage Studies in Europe 2023

This is a unique program in Cyprus and the region, which aims to provide new scientific knowledge that will enrich and enhance the research and academic careers of its participant students. Furthermore, the postgraduate program will equip students with a wide range of transferable practical skills that will give them a significant advantage in the current and future competitive labor market. The program’s goal is to prepare students for careers as scientists and experts in Cultural Heritage with a strong background in digital tools and scientific methods. Graduates of the program will be competitive to pursue work in the private or public sectors of Archaeology, Cultural Heritage Management, History, Art Architecture, Museum Studies, or the Study, Rehabilitation, and Management of the Historical Structured Environment. -

The program in "Landscape Architecture - Land Landscape Heritage" integrates technical, natural and agronomical sciences, as well as historical, cultural and social studies. The program is based on design studios and lectures on current themes such as the design of soil and of public open spaces, of the urban and rural landscape, preservation of landscape heritage, regeneration of derelict areas, sustainable tourism and hydrogeological risk prevention. -

The heritage industry is a major and growing contributor to the global economy, employing increased numbers of skilled heritage managers. This degree offers a tailor-made curriculum to develop the knowledge base and skills required from both the disciplines of Business and Archaeology to allow effective management of the world’s heritage. As a student on this programme, you will be guided through modules to develop your understanding of the economic and legal principals within which heritage management operates across the globe, from Museum displays to site presentations and how heritage shapes national identities. This will be matched by education in theory and practice of assessing, preserving, presenting and mitigating the impact of development on our shared heritage. Your business skills will be developed in finance, marketing, project and risk management to provide a broad base suited to working in both the public (government) and private sectors. Graduates from this programme will be suited to work in a wide range of business and management roles in the heritage, tourism and construction sectors. -
