A master’s degree program is found at the graduate level. Most programs require a bachelor’s degree and take about two years to complete.

What is an MSc in Fire Science? A program in fire science teaches advanced level skills in emergency services and firefighting. Programs will generally cover topics that include structural engineering, operations management, investigations, fire safety and proactive protection. Students also develop leadership skills and learn about related topics, like team development, performance management, strategic planning and public finance. Courses in a program may include conflict resolution, interagency collations, emergency crisis management, structural design and multi-alarm control. Research projects may be necessary to complete a program.

After earning a master’s degree, graduates may be prepared to step into leadership roles. Programs many also give scholars the skills needed to work in niche specializations and management. A degree is often earned as a way to gain a promotion.

Costs of a program are made up of various expenses, like tuition and fees. Since these costs vary from school to school, accurate costs estimates can only be obtained from your chosen school.

Upon graduating, students are typically ready to advance in their firefighting careers. They may be able to work in various management positions within a fire and emergency service organization. Possible career titles include construction trades fire consultant, fire insurance manager, arson inspector, executive fire chief and emergency preparedness specialist. Many program participants are already working in fire safety, so an MSc in Fire Science can enable them to step into a new position with their current employer, or they can pursue work with other fire safety organizations.

If you want to advance your career and work in management or higher level positions, then you might consider earning an MSc in Fire Science. Search for your program below and contact directly the admission office of the school of your choice by filling in the lead form.
