What is an MSc in Financial Mathematics? This program provides opportunities to apply mathematics to financial markets. Students develop and use mathematical models and then combine them with financial theories. They use these models to measure and analyze both market prices and financial risks, and to create probability models. Coursework covers subjects such as elementary finances; empirical, theoretical, and computational tools; quantitative analysis techniques; signal processing; economics; and strategic analysis. Admission to this program is appropriate for students with a background in economics, mathematics, or finance.

Students who participate in this program benefit from the specific knowledge and aptitude that they develop as they work with highly qualified professors and successful professionals. Some programs also benefit from the help of international staff members. Upon graduation, students can expect to have a competitive edge that gives them access to national and international positions.

The cost of participating in the MSc in Financial Mathematics program will vary quite a bit from one school to another. This should be expected; particularly as students consider schools in different countries.

There are many job opportunities open to graduates from this master’s program. Graduates may find work as international market analysts, actuaries, risk engineers, administrators at banks and other financial institutions, corporate financial officers, and insurance specialists. Education prepares graduates to fill positions working in finance, banking, insurance, and consulting. With an advanced degree, graduates often have access to lucrative positions with comfortable working atmospheres.
