This programme takes a critical political ecology frame and examines environmental policy and its intersections with development from a social justice angle. It is taught and convened by leading political ecologists and offers a critical analysis of key issues including water, forestry, climate, fisheries, agricultural production, biodiversity, conflicts and energy supply.

This MSc (or PGDip/PGCert) in Climate Change and Development is an online programme. This MSc course is designed for graduates from a wide range of environmental engineering backgrounds who want to apply new sustainable strategies to increasingly complex problems. We cover the technical aspects of natural and engineering environmental systems.

Climate change affects diverse populations around the world. This programme will provide the skills necessary for students to be agents of change in the emerging interdisciplinary field of planetary health. It is primarily targeted at academics and professionals who want to gain knowledge of the complex systems that link the environment and human health.

This program is delivered jointly by the London School of Hygiene Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and the Royal Veterinary College (RVC). It addresses a broad range of topics under the One Health paradigm and provides a foundation in the principles of diseases in the context of sociological systems, global health and food safety. Students develop skills related to methodology, transdisciplinary interactions and using a systems approach.

The Master of Professional Science (MPS) is an accelerated, graduate degree intended for students who want to generate innovative solutions to the marine, coastal, and climate-related issues (take same courses as PhD and Master of Science / MS students, but instead of research with a faculty member, students do research and projects in the field). Students enrolled in this program are exposed to a unique, multidisciplinary curriculum, including science theory, field and laboratory training, legal and regulatory knowledge, communication and media training, and the development of project management skills, designed to prepare them to address environmental challenges as future global leaders. GRE not required!

This Biodiversity, Wildlife and Ecosystem Health programme will prepare you for a career in conservation, or help existing wildlife and conservation professionals to secure senior roles in specialist areas. Many of our graduates realise their ambitions to change careers, or to take a more active role in promoting the value of nature in their communities and workplaces. Others use this programme as a stepping stone to further study and research careers.

The MSc in Environmental Management (Energy) examines current ideas in energy production, conservation, economic value and the essential "energy trilemma". Once you graduate, you will qualify for graduate IEMA professional status. You may also fast-track to PIEMA (practitioner status) with the completion of a work-based competence assessment. This can be a launch pad for future leadership roles.
