The MSc, or Master of Science, is a popular Master’s degree designation. Internationally recognized, the MSc is typically awarded after about five to six years of rigorous study in what is usually a science-based field.

The different topics covered in an environmental sciences program all center on studying the environment and solving related issues. These may include animal migration patterns, pollution control, global climate change and alternative energy systems. Students may take courses in biology, ecology, chemistry and geology.

Education in the United States is mainly provided by the public sector, with control and funding coming from three levels: state, local, and federal, in that order.
