Environmental engineering, which is a branch of engineering, is dedicated to protecting the Earth and its inhabitants from air and water pollution, harmful chemicals in the soil and improperly disposed-of waste. Many environmental engineers work to create modern technology that can reduce or possibly prevent industrial waste.

With university education being upper most level in the education system of the Belgium, the government has put more emphasis to make sure that the students’ lives is made as simple as possible through the loan and grants programs. They offer sponsors for international students with poor and vulnerable backgrounds who would like to study in this country.

Several studying opportunities are available in this town. One of the oldest universities in the region, Catholic University, as well as higher institute of Philosophy found in Leuven.
