A Master of Science (MSc) program is often pursued by students after finishing a four-year college degree. It is intended for those who wish to deepen their knowledge of science in a certain field and to become qualified for advanced levels of employment within it.

What is an MSc in Environmental Biology? It is a post-graduate degree in which students learn about the natural history of and interactions among living things that make up the earth’s environment. They also learn the ways abiotic factors such as soil, water, and air create an ecosystem, and about threats to biodiversity from global warming, development, and pollution.

A Master in Environmental Biology is an interdisciplinary degree, meaning it combines courses from more than just the field of biology. Students graduate with a holistic appreciation of natural sciences and an understanding of how biological processes work together. They are able to apply their scientific knowledge to real-world problem solving as it applies to conservation and management of resources.

The cost of tuition varies substantially from institution to institution. Variables affecting total cost include length of program, price per credit hour, and additional fees for laboratory equipment or field trips. Always check with a school that interests you to determine if the price fits your educational budget.

An MSc in Environmental Biology opens the door to a number of career paths. This credential on your resume will make you a more competitive applicant for jobs with non-profit organizations, private consulting firms, and government agencies. Depending on the specific concentration of your chosen program, you might be working in resource management, ecological restoration, or wildlife management.

Environmental biology courses are offered in seated classrooms and increasingly as online or hybrid classes at many colleges and universities. Search for your program below and contact directly the admission office of the school of your choice by filling in the lead form. There is no obligation, and receiving more information will help you make a good decision about your future.
