The Master of Science, or MSc, is an academic degree awarded to those who effectively complete about two years of intensive study on a given topic. Many MSc courses offer a combination of classroom and research-based curriculum.

Development studies provide knowledge linking to global development processes and their inter-relationship from a multidisciplinary, social science perspective. Central questions that are addressed include theories of development and underdevelopment, globalisation and the international economic system, foreign assistance, North-South relations and the poverty problem.

Norway (Norge) is the westernmost, northernmost — and in fact the easternmost — of the three Scandinavian countries. Norway is well known for its amazing and varied scenery. The fjords in the west of the country are long narrow inlets, flanked on either side by tall mountains where the sea penetrates far inland. The ultimate responsibility for the education lies with the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research.
