Master studies in Chemical Technology - Composites and Nanomaterials last for three semesters starting in February each year.
The first semester is partly devoted to amending the basic knowledge in chemical technology for candidates studying abroad and those persons who at their bachelor level, studied directions different from chemical technology to reach standards defined by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Regular courses contain physical and inorganic chemistry, engineering of materials and chemical reactors, the technology of polymers, processing of nanomaterials and composites. Classes on modeling and simulation are included.
Laboratory classes allow performing synthesis and detailed characterization of composites together with their various practical application using the specific physical, mechanical and electrochemical properties. Ecology and recycling are also in the program as well as advanced materials for generation and storage of energy. The students have also a possibility to select elective courses during studies, e.g. biotechnology, medical aspects and others.... [-]

Modern biotechnology has had a dramatic effect on the world economy and on modern society. Recent developments in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, and immunology provided biotechnology with a new momentum and a new prominence. What we owe to modern biotechnology is, among other things, drugs of a new generation (biopharmaceuticals), fast diagnostic tests and a therapy using tissue engineering and stem cells. Biotechnology has its applications not only in medicine but also in agriculture, in fuel production, as well as in waste and pollution removal.
Program Description, Type, and DurationMolecular Biotechnology is a full-time program of studies leading to the professional title “Master of Science in biotechnology”. It is dedicated to students (expected to have at last a BSc degree) who want to understand molecular mechanisms of biological processes and those who would like to put this knowledge into practice.... Faculty of Chemistry offers the following program conducted in English:
Master of Science in Engineering
1.5-year graduate program in the area of:
Applied BiotechnologyThe program contains a wide range of specialist subjects (modelling of bioprocesses, regulation of biotechnological processes, separation processes in biotechnology, laboratory of technological and biotechnological processes, biotechnology of natural resources, etc.), which, together with bioanalytical and selective subjects (bioanalytics, sensors and biosensors, microbioanalytics) constitute a comprehensive offer for all graduates interested in the field of biotechnology. The main objective of the program is to help students become specialists in the specific field and to increase their career opportunities in various biotechnological branches of industry (e.g. pharmaceutical, food or composting industry). Our alumni will obtain knowledge and competencies necessary to carry out scientific research in biotechnology laboratories or to work at planning or consulting companies.... [-]
