Christian Service University College is the obvious choice for senior management personnel in executive positions who are considering upgrading themselves in the area of monitoring and evaluation. The elite Master of Science Degree programme in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) is the first of its kind to be launched by any university within the West African sub-region.
According to the Head of the Department of Planning and Development of the CSUC Mr. Paul Kitson B. Asamoah, with Ghana’s increasing reliance on international bodies and donor agencies for funds and other forms of support to propel development plans, programmes and projects, there is the need to train high caliber professionals at the postgraduate level in monitoring and evaluation. “In-depth knowledge in monitoring and evaluation is scant and is in bits. It is not comprehensive. And where organizations need personnel with comprehensive knowledge and skills in M&E, they often spend thousands of dollars to send them abroad to receive training,” said Mr. Asamoah. “The initiative of the CSUC President Prof. Sam Afrane in bringing this programme to your doorstep is commendable and becomes a better and more cost-effective means of obtaining a quality education and training in M&E,” added Mr. Asamoah. The Programme which has both theoretical and practical components is hands-on with 12 months intensive coursework and research components as well as an extra three months for the dissertation. The programme targets officials of various government ministries, departments, metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies. It also targets media organizations, local and foreign non-governmental organizations. For young graduate seeking to apply, they require a minimum of two years working experience exclusive of national service. In sum, CSUC’s M&E degree is a programme whose time has come for both Ghana and other countries in the West African sub-region. For interested applicants, particularly those in other West African countries, kindly visit the CSUC website at www.csuc.edu.gh for an application form and enroll.
