This new MSc is an extension of our MSc Materials Engineering and includes a second-year allowing you to undertake either an industry placement or an industry-focused project with an industrial partner.

Your Materials Engineering with Industry Experience

Your experience of the Materials Engineering with Industry MSc is defined by expert training across a range of subject areas.

These include metallurgy and materials selection, modern methods for engineering design and analysis, polymers, and modern business management issues and techniques.

Your studies will be nourished by an international community of over 500 postgraduate students and 120 research staff at the College of Engineering.

Entry Requirements

This course is only available to international students.

Usually, the entry requirements for the MSc Materials Engineering with Industry course is a 2:1 honours degree (or above) in Engineering or a similar related discipline. Please note that there are a limited number of places on this programme – please see ‘How to apply’ for further information regarding requirements.

The Postgraduate Admissions Office are happy to advise you on whether your qualifications are suitable for entry to the course you would like to study.

If English is not your first language you will need an acceptable pass in an approved English Language qualification to make sure you get the full benefit from studying at Swansea. We consider a wide range of qualifications, including the Swansea University English Test, the British Council IELTS test (with a score of at least 6.5 and 5.5 in each component).
