Why this course?
In this full-time programme, students will study the management challenges encountered by global organisations, with particular emphasis on attracting, managing and developing people.
The programme brings together cutting-edge scholarship on global business management and international human resource management to provide a bespoke learning experience tailored to students looking to pursue senior roles that have a strong ‘people management’ element.
You’ll study a tailored programme of human resources (HR) and business modules that specifically prepare students for management roles within global multinational enterprises and other international organisations. Human resource learning will be delivered through targeted modules such as:
- Global Staffing
- Labour & Diversity in Global Context
- HR in Business Context
- Comparative & International Employment Relations
These and other HR-oriented learning will be complemented with modules engaging with a range of related challenges for international business managers, including:
- Understanding the Global Business Environment
- Managing Across Cultures
- Professional Management Practice
Students will also have the opportunity to select a number of elective modules from an extensive programme of HR and business learning offered by Strathclyde Business School.
Students will be required to undertake a research-based project that will focus on an organisational management issue with an international focus. You'll be assisted to connect with an international organisation and its managers to conduct research and produce a practically-focused report.

You'll have the opportunity to attend guest lectures and tailored seminars delivered by leading HR and business managers, focusing on the practical challenges of managing people in multi-national enterprises and international organisations.
First or second-class Honours degree, or equivalent, in any degree subject.
For students whose first language is not English, achievement of the following minimum level of proficiency in English Language, taken within the past two years, is required:
- IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each criterion
