MSc in Human Resource Management
Directly aligned to the CIPD’s knowledge requirements, the MSc and PGDip in Human Resource Management offer you the opportunity to build your network. The Postgraduate Diploma Human Resource Management follows a part-time curriculum designed to offer flexibility for those studying while working. As a student, you will learn in a community of like-minded professionals; you will receive excellent learning support and have access to the university’s extensive resources to develop your knowledge.
The MSc Human Resource Management is a fast track to CIPD membership: become a CIPD associate member in one year while gaining a masters degree. As a student you will study full-time, often alongside part-time students who are also practitioners; this creates a rich learning community where professional experiences can be shared and discussed. The course places a strong emphasis on active learning to complement theory. You will have the opportunity to attend an employment tribunal or other HR related event; you will also be required to attend on-campus CIPD events to enhance your knowledge and expand your professional network.
Study style
The MSc course is delivered on a full-time basis with both day and evening attendance, while the PGDip course is delivered part-time one afternoon/evening a week.
Entry requirements
To study the full-time MSc you will need:
- A good undergraduate degree with an interest in the area;
- OR practical work / organisational experience at degree level;
- OR an appropriate pre-masters programme and have practical work / organisational experience at degree level
- In addition, international/non-native English speakers require an IELT score of 6.5, written 6.0.
Careers
Advance your career in Human Resource Management or Human Resource Development by working towards senior manager and director level position. Successful completion of the Postgraduate Diploma and MSc Human Resource Management offers Associate membership of the CIPD and provides the basis to work towards CIPD Chartered Member status.
