Teaching and Learning 2021–22
For the academic year starting in September 2021, we currently plan to deliver a mix of in-person and digital teaching. Our teaching model will depend on the Covid-19 restrictions in place at the time but we are planning on the basis that all students will be with us in Edinburgh.
Entrance to our MSc in Global Strategy and Sustainability programme is strongly competitive. You can increase your chances of a successful application by exceeding the minimum programme requirements.
You will need a UK first-class or 2:1 honours degree in one of the subjects below, or an equivalent international qualification.
In business and commerce, management, finance, accounting, economics, international politics, international relations, science, engineering, or law.
We may also consider applicants with a degree in a different subject area but who have relevant work experience or can demonstrate a high level of interest and engagement in environmental/social sustainability through work or voluntary activities. These are not required but may increase your chances of acceptance.

You must demonstrate English language competency at a level that will enable you to succeed in your studies, regardless of your nationality or country of residence.

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) iBT (including Special Home Edition): total 100 (at least 20 in each section)

Our MSc in Global Strategy and Sustainability has been developed to provide students with a critical understanding of the theories, processes, behaviours and institutional forces affecting the environmental sustainability, social responsibility and positive impact within private, public, and third sector organisations, and the role of strategy in affecting local and global outcomes.
The MSc in Global Strategy and Sustainability is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in core principles alongside option courses offering a more tailored experience.
This programme runs for one academic year, starting in mid-September and ending in August. At the start of the programme, you study compulsory courses. These are the foundation upon which the whole MSc is built and ensure a common basis of knowledge across the different areas. Some of these may be during Semester 1 and others Semester 2, more details will follow soon.

The programme aims to provide students with a critical understanding of the theories, processes, behaviours and institutional forces affecting the environmental and social sustainability of organisations, and the role of strategy in affecting local and global outcomes. It will enable them to gain insight into the range of risks and opportunities facing all institutions in the transition to an equitable low-carbon economy.
