Program Description

Course summary

The explosion of Big Data and the adoption of Cloud Computing is transforming the financial services sector. Companies are facing a technology-led revolution, requiring new business models and the need for companies to rapidly adapt their services and operations.

Our FinTech with Business Analytics MSc draws together knowledge of financial markets and institutions with the skills to develop and implement technological solutions to improve financial services with greater speed, accuracy and at lower costs. This cross-disciplinary course is designed to develop an in-depth understanding of the financial techniques and applications that are transforming the sector and giving rise to a new financial ecosystem. You will learn to apply the technologies, products and approaches used in business: Blockchain Technology, Digital Currencies, Big Data, Predictive Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Whilst our academic programme is grounded in theory, it has a strong practical orientation. You will use coding and analytics skills to develop business and financial insights to solve real-world problems. Students have access to our purpose-built Financial Markets Suite, using live market data via the state-of-the-art Bloomberg platform. You will also have an opportunity to complete an in-course work placement with one of our partner organisations or to complete a research project to consolidate your learning.
