The program Human Resource Management is related to two other programs: Strategy and Organization and Organization of Innovation Processes. These programs have a common set of organization and strategy courses but in additional content. As the name indicates, the program in Human Resource Management offers a course that specializes in the management of human resources.
Teaching and learning
Teaching and learning at the University of Southern Denmark build on the principle of active learning and teaching. You become part of a committed learning community and we expect you to actively participate, be proactive, curious, and ready to learn.
We strive to teach in ways that generate in-depth learning and motivate students to participate actively in the learning activities. We also strive to ensure alignment between learning objectives, teaching methods, and forms of examination as well as variation among these. Each course typically consists of three lessons per week to support your independent learning activities. The lessons consist of lectures, seminars, projects, and case studies. For project work, seminars, and Master’s thesis, supervision is available.
We encourage students to form study groups across nationalities and other differences in their backgrounds to stimulate learning and develop skills for cooperation in multicultural and diverse teams.
The academic staff that plans and carries out the teaching on the master’s programs in Economics and Business Administration consists mainly of active researchers within the various subject areas.
The programs within strategy and organization mainly draw on researchers from the strategic organization design unit - an internationally leading unit in strategy and organization science.
The academic year is divided into two semesters, each comprising 15 weeks of instruction. The autumn semester starts on 1 September and ends just before Christmas. The spring semester starts on 1 February and ends around 1 June. Exams take place in January and June respectively.
The first two semesters comprises three compulsory courses each semester. In the third semester, you may choose between taking your electives at the University of Southern Denmark, at one of our many partner institutions or somewhere else, and you also have the possibility to gain some of the ECTS through an internship. The fourth semester is dedicated to the completion of your Master’s thesis.
