The primary purpose of the MSc in Biochemistry minor-dissertation with coursework is to provide students with specialised advanced education and training while meeting the requirements of a specific research component so that students can master the required experimental and technological skills and necessary fieldwork competencies such as innovation, decision-making, strategic thinking and organizational skills. A minor-dissertation with coursework MSc in Biochemistry consists of a minimum of 120 credits of research at level 8 in the form of a research project, written up as a minor-dissertation.

The degree demands a high level of intellectual and theoretical knowledge and insight into problems related to the field of study and of critical reasoning, formulation, analysis and evaluation of a specific problem in the field of study.

Master’s Degree studies consist of a guided research project that must be submitted in the form of a dissertation at the end of the study period.

The curriculum consists of:

  • A dissertation and such additional research work as may be prescribed by the Departmental Head.

Please note: Admission to the Master’s programme is subject to approval by the Department.

Registration and Start Dates

Registration starts in January and lectures in February for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate course work programmes.

All research programmes for Masters and PhD can register throughout the year.

End Date: Academic starts in January and ends in December. Programme deadline is determined by the duration of the programme.
