Introduction
Explore the role of banks and finance in the modern global economy. Using information from a number of sources, you will study the theory and practice of international banking and financial markets, and their behaviour. You'll apply theory to real-world problems.
You will learn about the theoretical concepts and basic skills required to estimate and interpret economic models You will be able to understand and analyse activity, and anticipate future developments.
You will study the diverse international banking systems, money, investments, and regulations which have become increasingly important in recent years.
Global internships
As part of this course, you have the opportunity to undertake an eight-week internship matched to your chosen industry in China, Mexico, Vietnam, or Manchester (UK).

Entry requirements
Grade requirementsGenerally, a good (at least a second class Honours degree or equivalent) first degree in any subject which has enabled the applicant to develop analytical and quantitative skills. If you are concerned that your qualifications do not meet our normal expectation you may apply, but you should include a short personal statement concerning your general interest in your own education, work experience and prior relevant learning. Places are limited and early application is advised even for well-qualified candidates.

Careers
This course is designed for students who want to work in the financial industry. Some of our graduates have previous experience and are looking to develop their career further, while others are looking to move into the sector for the first time.
Many of our graduates work with large international banking and investment institutions, or with smaller firms in the UK and overseas. Many work for other commercial organisations, including accountancy firms, management consultancy firms, manufacturing companies, and in the public sector.
