A Master's programme is the opportunity for that: it prepares you for specialist functions in industry or for a PhD study and a career in science. The Master's programme Computer Science has five specialisations in actual fields of research: Computer Security, Embedded Computing Systems, Information Systems Engineering, Methods and Tools for Verification and Software Engineering.

The first year of the program will depend on your specific background. And it prepares you for the specialization you choose, within eight basic subjects. In the second year you will further extend your knowledge and skills within the specialization chosen. During half of the second year, you will work on your Master’s thesis, within or outside the faculty. There are a lot of opportunities abroad, for this.
The general requirements for admission to a Master programme are:
--A relevant BSc degree* (or equivalent) based on a programme of sufficient academic level and quality to be able to complete the MSc degree course you intend to pursue at the University of Twente.
--For applicants whose mother tongue is a language other than English:
1.Academic IELTS**, overall band score of at least 6.5.
2.TOEFL**, internet based (TOEFL-iBT) of at least 90. Please note that we do not accept “Institutional TOEFL” tests except for the one organized and certified by the Netherlands Education Support Office in Jakarta
3.Nationals of the People’s Republic of China please note: A “NESO-certificate” must be sent to the University of Twente as proof of validity of your qualifications. In order to obtain the NESO-certificate you will need to take the IELTS test. The Netherlands Education Support Office in Beijing does not accept the TOEFL for a NESO-certificate.
4.Indonesian students should take their TOEFL test at one of the centres recognized by the NEC (Netherlands Education Support Offices) in Indonesia.
Please note that exclusively nationals from the USA, U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada are exempted from the English test requirement.
