We expect some changes will be made in the curriculum that are not directly related to the change in the programme name. You will be informed about these changes in due time. Managerial Economics and Strategy remains a specialisation in the MSc in Business Economics.

The Real Estate Finance track of the Business Economics Master's programme provides you with the broad range of skills, the in-depth knowledge and the international expertise that you will need to start off your career in this specialist discipline with a definite advantage.

The Amsterdam Business School’s Master’s programme in Business Economics: Real Estate Finance teaches you how to understand the role of real estate assets for individual and institutional investors. The financial and economic aspects of commercial real estate are the core of the track, fully preparing you for a rewarding career focusing on organisational and financing issues of real estate markets, combining a quantitative and analytical approach.

The programme in brief

To fully grasp the field of Real Estate Finance, you'll cover the development, financing and operation of real estate in a rich and diverse programme. Follow traditional classes, take part in workshops and debates, and attend lectures of guest speakers from all over the world.

The content of the programmes directly reflect the Finance Group at the Amsterdam Business School (ABS), one of the top ten research-oriented finance departments in Europe. Programme structure

The Master of Science in Business Economics is a one-year programme of 60 ECTS credits (1 ECTS credit = 0.5 US credits). The academic year runs from September to the beginning of July and is divided into two semesters, each with three periods. Each period is rounded off with an examination.


The Master's thesis is the final piece of work you will be required to complete prior to graduation. You’ll write the thesis based on your chosen track, and will be supervised by one of the researchers from this specialisation.
