The aim of the master's degree study branch Business Administration that is being taught in English is to prepare graduates for economic, managerial, entrepreneurial, administrative, and other positions and activities within the bounds of both the national and international labor markets. Students obtain advanced theoretical knowledge of commercial and entrepreneurial processes in the Czech Republic and the EU entrepreneurial context. They learn to understand the theories, concepts, and methods employed currently in business.
Special notions from economics, management, commerce, logistics, and other areas are implemented in the study branch. Students obtain a deep knowledge of the entrepreneurial and administrative activities connected to the establishment, management, and administration of both the entrepreneurial and non-entrepreneurial bodies. They have the practical, applicable knowledge of economic and financial analyses at their disposal, as well as prognostic methods and strategic analyses. They understand problems of strategic management, personnel management, bookkeeping, marketing, logistics, wholesale and retail commerce. They are oriented in the questions of commercial law, international commerce, and international economic relationships.
The graduates are capable of managing and transforming the working environment or the social milieu, be it possibly a complex one, or such where changes cannot be predicted with certainty. They can discover new strategic approaches. They can become fully responsible for the expansion of professional qualification levels, proceedings, techniques, and processes and for the assessment of the strategic decision. They can apply their knowledge when solving problems concerning entrepreneurial and administrative activities; in broader connections at the medium-level or top-level management, too. They are prepared to proceed independently and creatively. They are capable of applying in practice their theoretical knowledge of economic, financial, and strategic analyses, prognostic methods, strategic management methods, personnel management, bookkeeping, marketing, logistics, wholesale and retail commerce, and of applying these in new situations when solving complex and unpredictable problems. They can satisfy the requirements of operations research and project management in both domestic and international environments. They are capable of practically exploiting their knowledge when materializing their own research project, entrepreneurial plan, and own firm business.
Examples of companies where the graduates have found employment: Tesco, Lidl, T-Mobile, Komerční banka, Česká spořitelna, KPMG, and others. The good level of their preparedness for practice has been testified through the research outcomes on University graduates´ unemployment level published, where for the FEM CULS graduates one of the lowest values has been reported (1.4 % as in the HN on February 19, 2016).
