The Masters degree in Sociology is a dual-emphasis program designed to prepare you for employment in public sectors and academic settings by providing in-depth training. The program will provide you with the knowledge, skills and experience necessary for a successful career in sociology. You will study the theories of society, conduct research and design a project to solve your research question. To be accepted into this program, a student must have a minimum overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.75 and a minimum grade point average of 2.75 in at least 15 hours of undergraduate sociology or related areas. A student without the 15 semester hours in sociology or related areas may be required to complete up to 15 hours of background courses in sociology. Working with the graduate coordinator, each student will develop a program of study no later than after the completion of 12 graduate credit hours.
